Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Just Had to Buy, but Are Still Sitting Unread on My Shelf

Well hello there friends!

It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday (which is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and Bookish)!

You know that feeling when you enter a book store and you just have to buy all the books? Okay, well maybe not ALL the books, but you must absolutely no questions asked by some books? Yes, I knew you would understand. It’s such an overwhelming feeling of book lust that it cannot be denied. So, you purchase said books. You place them on your shelf all pretty-like and you can’t wait to read them. Then suddenly, months go buy and you realize you still haven’t read the books you just HAD to HAVE!

Let’s take a peek at the list of some books on my shelf that I HAD to buy, but still have yet to read.

I know! I know! How could I abandon these books to a life of loneliness on my book shelves? I don’t know! I’m obviously the worst book lover of all kinds! But let’s just say I was going to read them…which would you recommend I save first?

Top Ten Tuesday: My Current To-Be-Read Stack

Hi there!

Happy Tuesday and Merry Christmas! I am currently in the Jacksonville area celebrating the holiday with my in-laws and my parents! I hope you are enjoying the holiday season with friends and family as well!

Since it’s Tuesday I’m participating, as usual, in the Broke and Bookish’s weekly Top Ten Tuesday. This week the official theme is a freebie so I decided to share a little about the books that have made it on my current To-Be-Read list!To Be Read

1. Princess Academy: Palace of Stone by Shannon Hale

2. Real Live Boyfriends by E. Lockhart

3. Everlost by Neal Shusterman (audiobook)

4. Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

5. Firelight by Sophie Jordan

6. Dead City by James Ponti

7. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

8. A Whole Lot of Lucky by Danette Haworth

9. The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson

10. Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

Now, don’t get me wrong, I have tons of other books I haven’t yet read sitting on my shelves (TONS!).  These are just the books that have recently been calling out to me!

I plan on getting some of these at least started during the two weeks I have off for the Winter Break. I’ve been craving some serious reading time! Have you read any of these? Any that should be made a priority? What titles are in your current to-be-read stack?

Tasty Treats (4)

Hi there!

I’ve missed you all so much! I have been so crazy busy with work and other work related things that I’ve been memeing only…which is kinda lame I know, but something had to give for a little while! Things are kinda back to normal pace now (at least for a little while) so I’m trying to start making up for lost blogging time.

So, this is still a meme post, but I don’t do it on a weekly basis so I figure its different!

This week I have had the opportunity to get some tasty treats to add to my reading stack, so let’s see what they are!

Skinny A Girl Named Digit
I was able to pick up this copy of Skinny by Donna Cooner for free Tuesday morning at our county’s annual Principal’s Breakfast. Every year our local Media Specialist professional organization hosts a breakfast thanking our principals for support.  Everyone gets to leave with a free book, so when I saw Skinny on the table I snatched it up because I’ve heard great things about it!  I also saw A Girl Named Digit by Annabel Monaghan at my public library this week and it just sounds so cute I had to grab it!

My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece Dead City

I recently discovered that there is a Forever Young Adult book club meeting at my public library…I can’t wait to check it out! Apparently My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece by Annabel Pitcher is their November read.  I’ll be honest, it sounds really weird, but I’m going to give it a try! This weekend I was able to spend a few days at the Florida Association for Media in Education conference, which I love! I presented on a monthly event we do in my Media Center, threw a social hour for our local organization, and got a chance to meet local Orlando author James Ponti, who wrote Dead City.  He was really friendly and funny and I can’t wait to start reading it!

Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter

You guys know how much I love Ally Carter’s books, so I was so happy to finally find the audiobook for Uncommon Criminals in my local library!  I’m already on disc five of six, so obviously it’s a good one!

Read Tshirt

A the FAME conference, there is always a lady selling bookish and library related -.  I’ve never had the chance to get any, so this year I decided I was going to buy myself a tshirt…and I did! There was this super cute hoodie I wanted, but it was like $40, so I chose this cute t-shirt instead.  It fits perfectly and I can’t wait to wear it to school!

So there you have it- all the fun bookish things I received this week! What fun books or bookish treats did you get recently?
