Top Ten Tuesday: My Students’ Picks

Hi there!

Each week I participate in The Broke and Bookish’s Top Ten Tuesday.  This week is a Rewind week which mean we can choose any topic we prefer.

This week I decided to share the spotlight with some of my students. I asked some of my top Media Center patrons (“My Reader Girls/Boys” is what I affectionately call them) what they’re currently reading. These are the kids that visit the Media Center multiple times a week and the first ones I call when I receive a new book order so they can get first pick! I know we’re not supposed to have favorites, but well…you know. Let’s take a look at their current reads!

So there you have it what real live middle schoolers are actually reading!  It seems that most of them are in the middle of series, which makes me happy. I know some people get annoyed that there is a lack of good teen standalones, but as an educator I am partial to series because they motivate my students to keep reading.

Have you read any of these?  If not take my students’ word and give them a try! :)

  1. I’ve been wanting to read Leviathan for quite a while, and both the covers of Incarceron and Take a Bow make me curious so I’ll definitely be checking them out!
What a cool topic for a list!
