Waiting on Wednesday: Requiem

Happy Wednesday!

Every week I participate in Waiting on Wednesday, a meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. What’s the purpose of Waiting on Wednesday? The goal is to highlight upcoming titles that we are having trouble waiting patiently for.

This week I’m waiting on Requiem (Delirium #3) by Lauren Oliver.Requiem by Lauren Oliver

Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.

After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor. Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.

Now, I have a confession to make…I haven’t read the first two books (Delirium, Pandemonium) in this series.

I know right?!

Really, really I want to read these books! The covers call to me every time I see them in the library and the store. I have no idea why I haven’t gotten my grubby little librarian fingers on these books yet! So, hopefully by March 2013, when Requiem is released, I will have had a chance to read the first two books.

What books are you waiting on this week?

  1. In a way you’re kind of lucky, because then you can sit down and read the whole series in one go! I’ve read Delirium and I loved it, but I haven’t read Pandemonium. I’ve heard amazing things about it though! And I heard it has an insane killer ending that will make you pine for Requiem even more! :P
