Top Ten Tuesday: Thanksgiving Book Fest

Well hey there!
I hope all is going well! I’m currently in Europe on vacation (I know right?!) so you won’t see me on Twitter or posting anything but my regularly scheduled posts.

So, now let’s get down to business!  Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish where they post a theme and book bloggers near and far create bookish lists related to that theme. This week’s theme, in honor of Thanksgiving, is Top Ten Books or Authors I’m Thankful For. All of the authors on this list are all authors whose books make me smile and wish for more!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane AustenJane Austen: Need I say more?! We should all bow down to her genius!

Ally Carter: I want to live in her books so bad!

Shannon Hale: She is the queen of retold fairy tales and the worlds she creates are magical!Princess Academy by Shannon Hale

Cassandra Clare: Her books helped me realize that I really enjoy supernatural fiction. Also she created Will Herondale, my favorite Welsh Shadowhunter! *squeeee!*

Veronica Roth: For writing a dystopian novel that rivals my beloved Hunger Games…seriously the Divergent books are THAT good.

Gordon Korman: I heart him and the fact that my students adore his books!

Rick Riordan: This guy knows exactly what my students want! Thank you for writing fabulous stories!

Jeff Kinney: For writing a new Wimpy Kid book every year because my circulation increases every time a new one is released (because my students are salivating over his books)!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever by Jeff KinneyStephanie Perkins: For writing romances that make me want to hibernate in my house for days until I finish reading (and maybe rereading) them.

Heather Brewer: I’m thankful for Vlad Tod…this series made me realize, that okay…I do like vampires!

So, seriously if you are an author and your name is on the above list…THANK YOU so much for your wonderful books! They make my world (and my students’ world) a much better place!

  1. I love Jane Austen and although I’ve never read Shannon Hale’s retellings, I have read her Austenland series – which I love. I want two weeks in Jane Austen’s universe with cute men!

  2. I love Jane Austen. Love her. She is number 1 on my TTT. I love Shannon Hale, too. I’m listening to Book of a Thousand Days – oh my gosh it is so good. I’m just over half way through, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
