Book Trailer of the Week: Legend by Marie Lu

So, I was in Boston this past week on vacation visiting my brother!  I had a fabulous time exploring the city and learning my way around the T (I did pretty good if I do say so myself!).  But now, I’m back in the sweltering heat of Florida and it is time to get back to regularly scheduled posts.

It is Friday so we all know that its time to showcase a book trailer!  This week’s trailer is for dystopian, sci-fi novel Legend by Marie Lu.  Here is a little bit about the boo, which I’ve heard is a really awesome read!

Legend by Marie LuWhat was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic’s wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic’s highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country’s most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June’s brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family’s survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias’s death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

This trailer is short and sweet closing in at right around 30 seconds.  In my opinion this is the perfect length for a book trailer because I only have a few minutes to promote books on the morning announcements at school.  Plus, it allows for a quick sneak peek without boring the students or giving them too much info before they actually read the book.

I have already heard great things about this book, which was released this past November, so here is another one to add to my ever-growing To Read Stack!
