Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine to spotlight upcoming releases that we’re pumped about.
It is officially mid April which means that May is about two weeks away.
Which means that Insurgent, Veronica Roth’s sequel to Divergent is almost here! The official release date is May 1, so I know where I’ll be stopping on my way home from work…the local bookstore! I loved the first book so much and I just can’t wait any longer for Insurgent so it’s a good thing it comes out soon or my head might esplode (yes, esplode!)! But I might be so excited to read it that my head will just esplode right then and there in the bookstore! It seems there is a high chance my head will esplode either way!
Okay, well lets check out the summary for Insurgent so you can understand just why I’m so pumped!
One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
Doesn’t that just sound so exciting?! The answer is obviously yes!
And if you’re still not convinced that Insurgent is going to be awesome, watch the book trailer!
